Simple Question About Global Warming

If the Sun is a star which will eventually burn out, why does it matter if we have global warming or any other climate issue? Eventually we will be doomed by the Sun going out anyways. Protecting the environment has always been a "for our children and grandchildren" movement but since it is all eventually over regardless of what we do, who cares?
